
Classic movies are classics for a reason. The style of acting and how the scenes are handled shape how movies are today. We still use the scenes to reference in movies today. With all that said today’s exercise should be a fairly easy one to complete as long as you make time for a little bit of research and popcorn.
Conduct a search for classical movies. There is also a list of classic movies that will be linked below that you can use. Pick a few movies to watch and watch them. That’s it!
While you are watching, keep these questions in mind:
- What makes the movie a classic?
- Is there an iconic scene that you have seen before?
- What made that scene so iconic?
- Do you see any acting techniques that are still used today?
- Has it changed?
The more movies and plays that you are exposed to, the more knowledgeable you will be. This will help with your acting ability because the techniques and foundation of these classics are being used even today. So watch several and have fun!
