Spotlight Kids entered into its third year in 2021. Launched in 2018, it offers local young actors opportunities to show their stuff on the CEPA stage at least twice per year.
Each summer, Spotlight offers a drama camp for performers ages 6 to 17. The campers participate in improvisational games, help create costumes and scenery, and rehearse a full production that is performed on the last day of camp. Enrollment increases every year as does the fun! Registration typically begins in April, so be sure you’ve signed up for our newsletter to receive notifications.
In fall of 2018 Spotlight added an additional performance opportunity for youth by producing its first Christmas play. Miracle on 34th Street featured 10 young actors who performed alongside adult community members. Then in 2019, Spotlight had it’s 2nd annual Christmas production, A Christmas Carol: The Musical that featured even more young actors working with our adult community members. We are continuing this fantastic opportunity in 2021, so for any upcoming auditions be sure to check our website, Facebook, Instagram, or contact Spotlight Coordinator Shelby Maddox.
