Disorder in the Court by Brianna Dehn, Jan. 21-22

Casey Licit is on a cross-country road trip when she’s apprehended and held for trial in a town appropriately named Berserksville.  Charged with an outrageous triple crime, Casey maintains her innocence.  But as the trial begins, our level-headed defendant realizes her hapless defense attorney is an ineffective dolt, and the prosecution effectively uses silly, childish distractions to win the case, including bribing Judge Falter and witnesses with candy and leading the courtroom in the Macarena!

There’s also a parade of witnesses whose testimony is nothing more than twisted fibs, boastful self-promotion, or gabby gossip.  Casey soon sees that her only chance at justice lies in her quick wits to beat them at their own game in this crazy (and hysterical!)  kangaroo court.

When: January 21 & 22 at 7 p.m.

Tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for students/seniors. Tickets will be sold at the door. All proceeds benefit the Victory Christian Spotlight Club.

Meet Victory Christian Spotlight

The Victory Christian Spotlight Drama Club is the newest addition to Spotlight, starting this past year, 2021. The students were eager to start a club, and the buzzing was heard by English Teacher, Sebrena Wood who is now the club’s sponsor. Starting off with different acting exercises at the beginning of 2021, the students discovered they really enjoyed Comedy and Improv. And that is exactly how the club decided on their first production Disorder in the Court. Be sure to mark your calendars when Victory Christian takes the stage January 2022!

Victory Christian is a private christian school that began in 1984. They provide education for students from pre-k through 12th grade. They have also served the St. Clair, Jefferson County, and Talladega communities over the last 30+ years.
