Our History

Built Around Our Community

The Pell City Center for Education and the Performing Arts (CEPA) was built by a collaborative effort among the City of Pell City, Pell City Schools, and the St. Clair County community. It’s purpose was to offer a premier live event space that would serve the needs of a growing artistic and sporting population. The facility is recognized for its concerts, theatrical performances, sports events and more.

A Collective Idea

The idea stemmed from “Project Pride” that promoted the ideas of the people in the community. They wished for a building and program that would foster creativity and arts. CEPA was made to enhance education, and inspire more cultural development, specifically surrounding performing arts.

Inside the CEPA, you can find an engraved marble wall that acknowledges everyone who played a key role in the creation and support of the CEPA in its early days.

A Community Focus

Originally, CEPA was built for Pell City High School and the community of Pell City. But thanks to Spotlight, CEPA is home for drama clubs all across St. Clair County.

For many, the CEPA has become a reliable place to go for premium entertainment.
